How to turn a video into a LinkedIn post
A video has your words in it already. The job is to find the three sentences that carry the point and lose the thirty that got you there.
Transcribe, then read it cold
Get the words down with timestamps. Read the transcript as a stranger would. Mark the one sentence you would quote to a friend. That is the first line of the post, not the first thing you said.
Keep one specific, cut the wind-up
A number, a name, or a run of your own words. Everything before the first specific is wind-up; delete it. Everything after the second idea is a second post.
Post the video, or the words alone
LinkedIn rewards both. A video post needs a caption that adds one line the video does not say. A text post stands alone and may be longer. Decide per post, not per habit.
One recording, every platform
The same transcript becomes a 280-character X post, a Threads post, a TikTok caption with three tags. Each one needs a different shape and the same specific. Write them together, from the one transcript.
